E-marketing for the ShopCentrik and FastCentrik online store users – a look back at a full day training
Monday, 11 October, 2010 - the “Internet marketing, its tools and news” training takes place in Prague. This event, with its main goal of revitalizing and deepening the knowledge of our existing customers and introducing e-marketing opportunities to our new clients, was organized by NetDirect, creators of online store systems and Acomware, specialists in internet commerce.
Internet marketing and its pitfalls
E-marketing is an area which is expanding rapidly. Keeping pace with new trends is time- and cost-consuming and the amount of information which is necessary for the success of an e-shop is increasing. From time to time, search engines prepare some unpleasant surprises in the form of a position decline, even if we have been well positioned for a long time and worked hard to maintain that position. When that happens, we have no other option than to shake ourselves off, stand up and get back into the fight. Frankly, we have no other choice.
What was the seminar like?

Tomáš Nohál, the chief trainer and the SEO specialist from NetDirect’s partner company ACOMWARE s.r.o., continued after Mr. Svoboda and took the visitors step by step through the process of creating a successful online store. Mr. Nohál focused mainly on the correct use of what was one of the day’s hot topics – SEO (Search Engine Optimalization). You might think you know everything there is to know on this topic, after all, there is plenty of information out there; a full text search on “SEO” in Google you will get more than 132mil results. However, we must realize that this technology is moving forward all the time and the rules and definitions are changing. It is very important not to “oversleep” this fact and regularly refresh your knowledge in this field.

To achieve maximum coverage of issues such as copywriting, web analytics and other techniques closely linked to optimalization, Tomas invited two of his colleagues – specialists in their field, to share their knowledge with the visitors of our seminar. Petr Weida showed us, in detail, the beauty of web analytics, mostly using, as an example, the Google Analytics tools. I believe that every single visitor realized how crucial the monitoring of e-shop customers´ behavior is, the importance of the information and its proper use. Copywriting – the writing of an effective, functional, compelling and readable articles, the correct choice of keywords and other related issues was introduced by Jakub Hladký.

Due to the volume of knowledge which today’s online store owner should have and the amount of information from other related specialized fields such as SEO, copywriting, link-building and web analyses it is very hard to become a “professional” in all those disciplines. Those who choose to study at home, using all the sources available on the internet, definitely deserve our admiration. However, sooner or later they will find that some tricks and techniques are hard to learn alone. Visits to regular training sessions will save time. - And many other things... Unfortunately there is no other way to move your e-shop back on the top positions.
The most extreme advice, for the obvious reasons, will not be mentioned here because we all know that nothing is solved by violence. What we recommend is to be patient and stay in good humour; something which, if you look at the picture below, was not missing during the training!
